Wheelchair Accessible Vans
Wheelchair Accessible Vans
Wheelchair Accessible Vans were not widely available before the Entervan.
In 1991, Braun introduced the Entervan, and revolutionized the wheelchair accessible vans industry.
It provides mobility in an entirely new class of vehicle. Customers had long hoped for a wheelchair
accessible minivan, and the Entervan's lowered floor made this a practical reality.
By replacing the minivan's factory floor and frame with a low-profile floor/frame system, the
Entervan conversion creates almost a foot of extra headroom. In addition, the new floor of the wheelchair
accessible van is low enough to enable access with a folding ramp.
The first wheelchair accessible vans used Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan chassis.
The lowered floor of a minivan conversion makes it possible for wheelchair and scooter users
to drive or ride as a passenger at "normal" height — which means increased visibility and plenty of
headroom. Access is enabled by a ramp which either folds out of the doorway or slides out from
under the floor.
Braun has a number of different lowered-floor conversions built on a variety of minivan chassis.
The Entervan is available on Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Chevrolet Uplander, and
Buick Terraza chassis.
